Two probable reasons: 1. Everyone is totally immersed in their own problems and doesn't realize on what's going around them. 2. Everyone want's to believe that there are people without any problems. It gives a feeling they could also be without any problems. One analogy for the same: Any blockbuster movie if it ends in a tragedy, everyone tends not to like it and its becomes a flop. (There are exceptions also for the same).
